Woke up this morning to find my hard disk got f**cked so I had to send the computer for repairs. This means I might be away from posting replies and etc for a while.
The rest of this journal is about me venting a little bit on the subject so continue only if you don't have anything better to do.

I do hate technology and computers at times like these. There was nothing wrong yesterday and in the morning I wake up to find my computer is not working. The OS was installed on the HDD with the problem so I can't do anything with it.
Funny thing is I started to search for a solution in the internet and the company who produced the HDD suggests for me to backup my files. Considering what the product was made for, that's probably the dumbest suggestion (or for the case in hand the smartest suggestion) you can get for a data storing device. First off I didn't buy the 500GB HDD to have the files in it backed up elsewhere. Secondly, what's the purpose of HDDs if I can't be confident my files will be safe in them? How do I know it will be safe in another DVD or HDD?
I was told that I'll probably lose everything in the damn thing. Which sucks because I did have a fairly stable setup and things were running smoothly. At least I was smart enough and really did keep my work files elsewhere which is the good news. I learned to do that the hard way when I had the same thing happen to me before on another HDD.
So, I hope to be back soon. Thanks for visiting.

bye bye 10 years of digital images and audio loops. I managed to use a data retrieval software on it and get some stuff back. But all the images were gone.
Yeah, I hate technology too.
Since then I have picked up a terabyte backup. I drop everything on there once a month.
